Biography

Justin Diedrich, M.D., M.S.C.I., is an assistant clinical professor of OB-GYN and family planning at the UCR School of Medicine. He practices at Riverside University Health System – Medical Center. Diedrich has previously served as a lecturer, preceptor and co-facilitator in courses at the Washington University School of Medicine. He was the family planning research coordinator for Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductive Sciences at the University of California, San Francisco.

He earned his B.A. and M.D. from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio, then conducted his residency at the University of California, Irvine School of Medicine. He completed his fellowship in family planning at Washington University in St. Louis and also earned a master’s degree in Science Clinical Investigation (MSCI).

He speaks both English and Spanish.

On Abortion

Abortion is one of the most commonly performed procedures in the United States. Approximately 1 in 3 women will have a termination during her life. Diedrich completed a Fellowship in Family Planning, which provides high level training in research and clinical skills in contraception and abortion. Diedrich can speak about abortion, unintended pregnancy, and public health issues surrounding abortion.

On Contraception

As a specialist in Family Planning, Dr. Diedrich can speak about contraception including long-acting reversible contraceptive (LARC) methods as well as contraception for medically complicated patients.

On Zika virus

As the Zika epidemic spreads, its effect on the fetus is being seen. It is critical that women understand risks during pregnancy and have knowledge and access to highly-effective contraceptives.
