Sadrul Ula is the managing director of Winston Chung Global Energy Center, a new research center at the University of California, Riverside, Bourns College of Engineering. He is also a research faculty at the College of Engineering – Center for Environmental Research and Technology (CE-CERT) and part of the Southern California – Research Initiative for Solar Energy (SC-RISE).
On Alternative Energy
Ula is working on research, development and outreach aspects of electrical energy storage, power transmission and distribution, smart grids, solar energy and wind energy. He is one of the leaders of the recently unveiled Sustainable Integrated Grid Initiative at UC Riverside, which is focused on the integration of renewable energy, energy storage and electric and hybrid vehicles.
On Energy Efficiency
Ula is an expert on home and commercial energy efficiency issues. He was recently awarded a grant from the California Energy Commission to study the efficiency of heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) systems in buildings.
